Brief History of the Wallwork Regatta

The Wallwork Regatta originated on Lake Melissa in 1965. It was hosted there as a two day regatta until 1970 when the regatta alternated between Melissa, Pelican, and once at Cotton. In 1981, Melissa bowed out and it was held exclusively on Pelican Lake until 1994 when it alternated 4 times with Big Cormorant. Since 2001, it has been held exclusively on Pelican Lake.

Driving Directions

Friday, July 30

6 - 8 pm: Registration

Saturday, July 31

8 am: Registration & continental breakfast

8:30 am: Skipper's meeting

9:30 am: 1^st race; 2^nd race immediately after 1st

12:30 pm: Racers' lunch (after 2^nd race)

2:00 pm: 3^rd race-no later than 3 pm

6:00 pm: Dinner & dance for PLYC members, racers & friends of sailing

Sunday, August 1

8 am: Continental breakfast

9 am: 4^th race; 5^th race immediately after 4^th

1 pm: Trophies & Awards

Regatta Boat Launching

All boats entering and leaving Pelican Lake for the race must stop by the Yacht Club for an inspection for Eurasian milfoil & zebra mussels.

If you need a shuttle boat after launching, let us know at registration. Be sure to bring your own mooring & line.

VH1 Radios

The race committee will be using VH1 radios for communication - channel 72. Bring one if possible, but they are not required.
